Baseball Closing Day

Baseball season is over and boy was it a good one! With that said, I'm so glad it's over. Every Saturday, a practice mid week, it just seemed to drag on...I definitely needed a seventh inning stretch! Walker used the tee, I think once, and actually made some plays that the first baseman fielded. By the end of the season, although his occasional dance moves still entertained the audience, he did turn into quite a little baseball player. Although, as soon as we left the closing ceremonies, he turned to me and asked "Is it time to play golf yet?" Hmmm, so glad I spent the money on baseball...
Favorite moments:
1. When Walker walked off the field after his coach told me to "go home," or to cross home plate that is....
2. When my mom came and yelled to Walker who was being pitched to by our coach.."Walker, make him pitch to you!" (He was throwing kinda high.) And then followed it up with "Walker, don't go for the high ones!" I couldn't stop laughing.
3. The way he looked in his baseball uniform.

Like the opening ceremonies, the city of Palm Desert didn't disappoint. There was a huge inflatable "park" with several different jumping and splashing opportunities, snow cones, cotton candy, concession stand food (which is surprisingly delicious), a trophy ceremony, and yes, a magician...nothing says baseball like a magician? The kids completely enjoyed themselves and it took the entire day, which we were okay with because it's occasions like these that we really love seeing the kids relaxed and playing.


And of course, Maverick with yet another snow cone opportunity that he couldn't pass up!
