Above is a slideshow dedicated to the amazing Risenmay Reunion from this past August. I'm trying to play catch up while "taking it easy" as per doctor's orders. Besides maybe if I catch up before baby boy is born, I'll actually have the time to blog about his arrival in a few short weeks! :)
For the reunion we traveled a few days journey up to Island Park Idaho where we all stayed in a rustic cabin decorated with antlers and pine. It was fantastic and charming and so much fun with the entire family there.
We visited Yellowstone National park and saw some bison, an eagle or two, and some other assorted wildlife including our nieces and nephews enjoying the actual untouched landscape.
(Actually if you scroll down the sidebar you'll find a video of the visit in "Riz Viz.")
Nature is pretty amazing, which sounds really cheesy, but photos of this place just don't do it justice. The color of the grass, the depths of the waterfalls, the amazing smell of sulphur spilling from the holes in the earth's crust, just marvelous. There was no way that we had a chance of seeing everything within Yellowstone National Park but we tried to hit as many sites as we could with 4 kids and a pregnant me. Simply Stunning.
While at the cabin we indulged in amazing food and Diet Coke aplenty, a rock fair put on by the kids (they collected assorted rocks and then made us pay to see them and collect them), movies, sometimes two in a row, and lots of card games, speed, california speed etc. We relaxed, we photographed and just had fun.
After we left the rest of the family our little group ventured over to a place called "Bear world" where we came up close and personal to bears (we didn't see any in Yellowstone while there) and wolves. That is definitely a recommended destination if you ask us. The kids enjoyed everything and the trip was a complete success. So the few days traveling home wasn't bad either, as we reminisced about our little memories.
