We're Back

Well, it was a fun 10 days over in Vacaville where we attended my cousin's wedding, played with family, and watched the "Disney's Lion King" Theater show.
We started the trip off last Thursday when Rolene, Baby Clark, the kids and I drove up to Vacaville. Rolene and I listened to "Max and Ruby" playing on the DVD player, with the occasional complaints about "this movie is scratched," or "this movie needs to be cleaned" and so on. I really don't know why we continue to purchase DVDs as it takes a whopping 2 minutes in our house (or car) before they jump, skip, and scratch. It just seems like a waste of money. But alas, the entertainment from the likes of Disney and Dreamworks is still worth the chance apparently as we continue to buy. Oh well, they still make these kind of trips enjoyable for the kids and that in turn makes them enjoyable for the driver. We made it in record time even though I did drive legal speed limits, we just lucked out in our traffic and stops.
All of us stayed at the Clark Residence Inn aka Grandma and Grandpa's house and had a blast staying up late and talking.
Our next adventure was to Lake Tahoe where we saw a lot of our extended family on the Clark side and attended cousin Matt's wedding reception. But on the way, because we were a little early, we stopped one of my parents favorite spots. It's a learning trail by a beautiful Tahoe creek which usually is open, but of course, not for us. So I'm sure that it was quite the interesting sight to see all us, Randa's family, my family, Rolene's family, Rhett and Heidi, and my parents all walking down a 'hiking trail' in our reception attire and heels. Whenever another couple walked by we would make sly comments like "wow, why did we dress up for this?" or "can someone show us a great 'picture spot?" We all had a good time and then headed over to the Irish pub where the reception was at.
It was freezing but we had a good time listen to the interesting stories told by the minister, ate fantastic food, and let's face it, I would sit through a freezing cold night anytime just to eat a piece of my Aunt Debbie's cheesecake which was for dessert.
The rest of the week was spent playing on Aunt Randa's waterslide, playing with the cousin's new bunny, Sarafina, searching for the new bunny after it escaped from the back yard, finding the bunny in the neighbor's yard the next morning, hanging out with my siblings and parents, and talking with "Great" (Great-Grandma Clark). We ate at Murrillos (a favorite Mexican restaurant) we had birthday ice cream at Fentons (the most amazing cold caramel that you could ever eat) and ate mom's good ole' home-cookin. It was just the best.
At the end of the week, we then attended a theater show which was absolutely amazing. The voices, the costumes, the puppetry of "The Lion King" was absolutely insane! Chris and I couldn't stop deliberating about the little details and boy, we would definitely do it again. It amazes me that there are people in the world with voices like theirs and the talent of the costume making deserved every Tony award that they won, which was quite a few!
Now, after this great trip, it's recovery time and unpacking, and washing etc. Oh the joy!
