Little League, Big Dreams. It was opening day for T-Ball season and Boy, did they put on a show! We signed up for the Palm Desert League this year and so far they have shown an amazing quality in their league and organization. The opening day schedule and details:
8:15 am Team Pictures. I can't wait to see how those turned out, his uniform is incredibly cute!
9:00am Walker's first game. White Sox Vs. the Rockies, We're the White Sox.
Walker has a decent swing and hit the ball over the head of the second baseman. The coaches will pitch a few balls and then if needed, the Tee will be brought in. Walker didn't need it, he hit the second pitch.
10:00 am Lunch and Refreshments. They had hot dog lunches for all of the players. Classic. The rest of us ate from the concession stand and food brought from home.
11:00 am Opening Day Ceremonies with:
Marine Corps Color Guard Performance
An international recording artist singing the national anthem (Obviously can't remember who.)
Speech by guest speaker and honored guest Hall of Famer Steve Garvey
First pitch thrown by Steve Garvey
11:20 am Fly over by Vintage World War II Aircraft (pretty cool!)
11:25 am Dismissal of Color Guard
11:30 am Carnival (which is set up by the fields) equipped with at least 8 different inflatable jumping yards, slides, games, also cotton candy, pitching zones, etc.
12:30 Leave for Home
It was a great day with the kids, good baseball, good food, good fun, and we all needed good naps!
